The grids.
Well now we're down to the decorations and possible locations. Since Joseph and I already planned a guest list of about 350 people, the few places I looked at would mean cutting down on it. So we've got a lootttt of looking over to do.
Today, my mother and I toured the Tarp Chapel in Broken Arrow.! Here is just a few pictures I took there.
Here's the Chapel (inside of course!)
What I liked the most about the inside of the chapel was that the whole thing was lined with windows. It was like bringing the outdoors, inside! And with the outside looking like this, it's stunning:
I took this on the grounds! The scenery was stunning. And definitely on our top of our locations. :) But right now what we are thinking is maybe moving the guests to a different location for the reception. Because though Tarp Chapel was beautiful, they were pricey and required that you use their catering, and none of it sounded that good, or at least not for that price. (: So, what I'm gonna ask, is what did y'all do, or dream of doing?

Now the decorations, because of our Antiqued Book theme, we are doing a whole bunch of old books, of course. Which if you want to donate just for that day, (: We won't mind.
But my rockstar of a mother had this idea to take an old book, rip out the pages (which kinda felt like breaking the law) and making flowers.
These were just her first flowers. They get better with each...pedal..? Ahaha (: They're just made of book pages, and loooooove.
It's small, but we are making a lot of them to kinda blend with our theme! If y'all think of anything that could also go with our theme, I am open to suggestions!

A random addition to the blog is that planning this wedding and my future with Joseph has not only helped me grow up, but it's shown me that there's nothing to be scared of. There was some previous drama with work and personal stuff, but now because I have something greater to focus on, I've given up trying to fix other people's troubles.
Overweight - Blue October.
It's kinda the song I've been playing in my head for the past few weeks. (:

THE RING!!
IT'S HERE!!! My ring finally got here! (: For those of you who didn't know. My ring was being made, so when I was proposed to, there was no actual ring.
BUT WHO CARES BECAUSE IT'S HERE!!! ((((:
---
The ring is made by a woman on Etsy.
Here's the link:
I cannot get over how fabulous this ring is. Not only is it very well crafted (and not to mention not hard on the finances) it fits BEAUTIFULLY.
Everyone I've told is shocked that it is indeed, not a diamond, but for those I've told, it wasn't a surprise. I hate diamonds. lol. (: It's a beautiful WHITE TOPAZ.
and apparently, "very you!" Ahahaha. :D I think Joseph did very very well.
I would recommend this ETSY shop to anyone.

I still have one more Bridesmaid to tell! lol (: I'm almost nervous to do it because of where she is at this moment, she has enough on her plate.
Currently, the Bridal Party stands:
Maid-Of-Honor: Emily (sister)
Bridesmaid 1: Jordan (best friend since 1st grade)
Bridesmaid 2: TO BE ANNOUNCED
Bridesmaid 3: Kelsey (best friend)
Bridesmaid 4: Tori (my next-door neighbor/good friend)
Groomsmen:
Best Man: Kyle F. (best friend since diapers)
Groomsmen 1: Tylar (best friend since Grace)
Groomsmen 2: James (good friend/sister-in-law's boyfriend)
Groomsmen 3: Ben (best friend since Grace)
Groomsmen 4: Ashton (best friend since Grace)
Boys are a lot less descriptive of how they know each other... I improvised. :)

I'm (This is Katie in case y'all didn't figure that out) reading "The War of Art" by Steven Pressfield . It's an amazing book that I think everyone should read. I may not be very far, but it has been a nice kick in the booty to pursue my writing career. (:
Much love !
From Us!
P.S: Joseph is reading Miscellaneous by H.P Lovecraft.! lol

ANNOUNCED
Well, guys. It's no longer a secret. (: Joseph and I annouced it to our family and made it "FBO" last night.
It's been great, getting to grow up with my best friend, especially with a lot of drama happening on his side of the family. We've been planning away. We've got the guest list, colors and a cake.! Kinda. We have the idea.
Our colors :
We chose these colors for different reasons. The red is the color of most antique books, the tan is the pages, white for the dress, and then green for grass, since we kinda want it to be outdoors and blue because we both love blue. (: Tell me what y'all think!
The cake idea:
This is the basic idea. Ours will look a little different because...well I don't want to pay a ka-jillion dollars. ;D So, we're going to go a little more simple. (;
This is just a heads up.! Everybody knows! No secrets!! (:

Proposal and Planning
Since this is indeed, the first blog. I'll catch you up on our lives.
Joseph and Myself (Katie) are your typical High School sweethearts. We've been friends since the beginning of our junior year, and we've been dating since the first semester of our senior year.
Both of us were home-schooled those years. He went to private school before hand, I had been home-schooled since the 3rd grade, but during kindergarten and 1st and 2nd grade, I went to the same private school.
We were living the same life at different times.
We met at a Home-schooled Co-Op's "Back to School Bash". I was the Name-tag assistant. We walked over and told me his name, I wrote it down and handed him the tag. I was already head-over-heels.
He not so much.
We went through what every couple does, heart break before you were even anything worth breaking.
But here we are now. Engaged.
Keeping it a secret.
--
Joseph proposed to me on May 25th 2011. We were walking out to his car after he came over to visit after I got off work. He got on one knee and asked, just like they do in the movies. Except...
I didn't believe him. Only after he stood up and told me he asked my father did I actually believe what was going on.
But, because there wasn't a ring, and he hadn't spoken to his parents about it, we've been keeping it on the down-low. My ring should be here this week and then the world can know.! :)
---
I've had a series of migraines and aches and pains. So I've been sitting here on my laptop looking at different center-pieces, decorations and so on. We've decided on a book theme, the wedding will be outdoors during the spring.
Any ideas? (:
